Today, March 8, International Women's Day, I would really like to honor all my ancestors.
Those women in my family that were pioneers, fought for freedom and rights that today I see as normal.
They crossed the Atlantic Ocean, seeking a better future, with their husbands, parents and children, passing misery, hunger, uncertainty and even fear. Losing loved ones at risk.
My father's family crossed the US on foot and carriages, looking towards the great California. Avoiding danger, American Indians and outlaws.
I honor my loved ones, and I appreciate the bravery and courage they had.
Thanks to these wonderful women today I am free, comfortable and prosperous.
But I cannot forget that they are the ones that fought for survival; and that gave me the right to be free, to vote, to make my own decisions.
Rights to take like a glass of water, not realizing that before them thousands and millions of brave women gained that freedom and those rights we have today and even forget.
I honor such beautiful women, fighters and intelligent pioneers that thanks to them today I can write this message and share it with you.

Día Internacional de la Mujer...
Hoy día 8 de Marzo, día internacional de la mujer, me gustaría mucho honrar a todas mis antepasadas.
Esas mujeres que en mi familia, fueron pioneras, lucharon por la libertad y los derechos que hoy yo veo como normales.
Cruzaron el océano Atlántico buscando un futuro mejor, con sus maridos, padres e hijos, pasando miseria, hambre, incertidumbre e incluso miedo. Perdiendo seres queridos durante el riesgo.
Mi familia paterna cruzo Estados Unidos a pie y con carruajes, buscando llegar a la gran California. Evadiendo el peligro, los indios Americanos y los forajidos.
Honro sus seres, y agradezco la valentía y el coraje que tuvieron.
Gracias a esas maravillosas mujeres hoy yo soy libre, cómoda y acomodada.
Pero no puedo olvidar que ellas son las que luchando por sobrevivir; y eso a mí me dio el derecho a ser libre, a votar, a tomar mis propias decisiones.
Derechos que tomamos como si fuera un vaso de agua, sin darnos cuenta de que antes de tenerlos miles y millones de mujeres valientes lograron esa libertad y esos derechos que hoy tenemos e incluso olvidamos.
Honro a tan bellas mujeres, luchadoras e inteligentes las pioneras de que hoy yo pueda escribir este mensaje y compartirlo con ustedes.
