Minerals of Dark Green Range…

This is the mysterious green of old trees.
It is in the part of our mind that Carl Jung the psychologist called “the collective unconscious” shared memories from dense vegetation and humans that lived at the edges of the forests.
Tree kingdoms are associated with magic, mystery and immortal beings that populated our stories and myths, including Merlin the magician, who was the teacher of the legendary King Arthur.
Merlin is an elemental being, in touch with the power of nature, capable of fusing with the trees and disappearing.

Dark green is a rich tone but is opaque, such as a carpet of pine needles in the gaps of dense evergreen trees or moss that covers the pebbles. Deep in the forest there is a kind of silence in the air, a very deep sense of calm.
The energy of the dark green range leads us to our roots and reminds us that we are on the Earth. The tree that exemplifies this quality of the darker green range is the Atlas cedar, Atlantic Cedars, which rises majestically. Being below provides us with a feeling of immense protection.

The dark green range restores our connection to Earth.
Dark green slows vibrations and helps soothe energies that have been overexcited and chaotic. Crystals and minerals in this color are wonderful to use as anchors of the body's energy field. In the dizzying madness of modern life is easy to lose our way. Dark green stones help us to restore balance, calming the human energy field through a lot of kinds of radiation and electromagnetic interference. For millennia our bodies and energy fields resounded with land in its natural state. Dark green energy helps to stabilize and restore our connection to our planet.
We also need to rediscover and enjoy the mystery. In modern times, we are pressured to analyze everything to the end and discard the individual experiences of reality. Dark green energy teaches us that the realm of mystery still is present if we want to explore.

Examples of dark green range, Maldovita, Moss Agate, Serafinita, and Dark Jade, etc...

Necesito comprar algunas canicas".

A Thousand Marbles...

The older I get, the more I enjoy Saturday mornings. Perhaps it's the quiet solitude that comes with being the first to rise, or maybe it's the unbounded joy of not having to be at work. Either way, the first few hours of a Saturday morning are most enjoyable.

A few weeks ago, I was shuffling toward the study with a steaming cup of coffee in one hand and the morning paper in the other. What began as a typical Saturday morning, turned into one of those lessons that life seems to hand you from time to time. Let me tell you about it. I turned the dial up into the phone portion of the band on my ham radio in order to listen to a Saturday morning swap net.

Along the way, I came across an older sounding chap, with a tremendous signal and a golden voice. You know the kind; he sounded like he should be in the broadcasting business. He was telling whomever he was talking with something about "a thousand marbles." I was intrigued and stopped to listen.

"Well, Tom, it sure sounds like you're busy with your job. I'm sure they pay you well but it's a shame you have to be away from home and your family so much. Hard to believe a young fellow should have to work sixty or seventy hours a week to make ends meet. Too bad you missed your daughter's dance recital." He continued, "Let me tell you something Tom, something that has helped me keep a good perspective on my own priorities." And that's when he began to explain his theory of a "thousand marbles."

"You see, I sat down one day and did a little math. The average person lives about 75 years. I know, some live more and some live less, but on average, folks live about 75 years. Now then, I multiplied 75 times 52 and I came up with 3900, which is the number of Saturdays that the average person has in their entire lifetime." "Now, stick with me, Tom, I'm getting to the important part." "It took me until I was 55 years old to think about all this in any detail"; he went on, "and by that time I had lived through over 2800 Saturdays. I got to thinking that if I lived to be 75, I only had about a thousand of them left to enjoy."

"So I went to a toy store and bought every
single marble they had. I ended up having to visit three toy stores to round up 1000 marbles. I took them home and put them inside of a large, clear plastic container. Every Saturday since then, I have taken one marble out." "I found that by watching the marbles diminish, I focus more on the important things in life." There is nothing like watching your time here on this earth run out to help get your priorities straight."

"Now let me tell you one last thing before I sign-off with you and take my lovely wife out for breakfast. This morning, I took the very last marble out of the container. I figure that if I make it until next Saturday then I have been given a little extra time. And the one thing we can all use is a little more time." "It was nice to meet you Tom, I hope you spend more time with your family, and I hope to meet you again here on the band. 75 year Old Man, this is K9NZQ, clear and going, good morning!"

You could have heard a pin drop on the band when this fellow signed off. I guess he gave us all a lot to think about. I had planned to work on the antenna that morning, and then I was going to meet up with a few hams to work on the next club newsletter. Instead, I went upstairs and woke my wife up with a kiss. "C'mon honey, I'm taking you and the kids to breakfast." "What brought this on?" she asked with a smile. "Oh, nothing special, it's just been a long time since we spent Saturday together with the kids. Hey, can we stop at a toy store while we're out? I need to buy some marbles…

El Viejo Sillón...

¿Cuánto vale el viejo sillón?.. ¿Nada?…

¿Arrugada?... ¿Tiene surcos?…
¿Cuánto vale el viejo sillón?... ¿Vale algo?…

How much is the old chair worth?... Nothing? ...
He's old, corroded, and dirty and its leather is worn out...

Wrinkled? ... Does it have grooves? ...
How much is the old chair? ... Is it worth anything? ...

Look at it, when you look; what does it tell you?…
Perhaps more than you'd expect it to say ...

Perhaps nothing ...

Perhaps you remember that beautiful morning when your mother with her big smile was waiting for you ... after being at your side all night without sleeping watching your deliriums ... A trail of circles under her eyes showing on her cheeks ... But that smile ! ...

Perhaps you remember your father in the evening with his pipe and newspaper, looking so interesting that so many times you wondered what he is thinking. ...

Or maybe the day you sat on it, to get your photo taken with your sister in your arms ... When she arrived home from the hospital…With a big sister's face, Happyyyyy ...

How much is the old chair worth?... Nothing? ...
He's old, corroded, and dirty and its leather is worn out...

It is old from your jumps from the chair to the table and vice versa ... Playing with your sister ...

It is gnawed because mother was so generous after all we begged…She let us have a dog…

It’s dirty because we ate snacks on it... While seeing those pictures that we loved so much on television ...

How much is the old chair worth? ... What value do old things have? ...

"Wrinkled? ... Does it have grooves? ...
How much is the old chair worth? ... Is it worth anything? ...

No importa si eres maestro, servidor público, ejecutivo, empleado o profesionista ¿Como te comportas?

Are you a Duck or an Eagle? You decide...

Roberto Martin was waiting in line for a ride at the airport. When a car pulled up, the first thing Roberto noticed was that the taxi was polished to a bright shine. Smartly dressed in a white shirt, black tie, and freshly pressed black slacks, the cab driver jumped out and rounded the car to open the back passenger door for Roberto. He handed him a laminated card and said:

"I'm Wally, your driver. While I'm loading your bags in the trunk I'd like you to read my mission statement."

Taken aback, Roberto read the card. It said:

Wally's Mission Statement:

Get my customers to their destination in the quickest, safest and cheapest way possible in a friendly environment.

This blew Roberto away. Especially when he noticed that the inside of the cab matched the outside. Spotlessly clean!

As he slid behind the wheel, Wally said, "Would you like a cup of coffee? I have a thermos of regular and one of decaf."

Roberto said jokingly, "No, I'd prefer a soft drink."

Wally smiled and said, "No problem. I have a cooler up front with regular and Diet Coke, water and orange juice."

Almost stuttering, Roberto said, "I'll take a Diet Coke."
Handing him his drink, Wally said, "If you'd like something to read, I have The Wall Street Journal, Time, Sports Illustrated and USA Today."

As they were pulling away, Wally handed Harvey another laminated card. "These are the stations I get and the music they play, if you'd like to listen to the radio."

And as if that weren't enough, Wally told Roberto that he had the air conditioning on and asked if the temperature was comfortable for him. Then he advised Roberto of the best route to his destination for that time of day. He also let him know that he'd be happy to chat and tell him about some of the sights or, if Harvey preferred, to leave him with his own thoughts.

"Tell me, Wally," amazed Roberto asked the driver, "have you always served customers like this?"

Wally smiled into the rear view mirror. "Not always. In fact, it's only been in the last two years. My first five years driving, I spent most of my time complaining like all the rest of the cabbies do. Then I heard the personal growth guru, Wayne Dyer, on the radio one day. He had just written a book called You'll See It When You Believe It. Dyer said that if you get up in the morning expecting to have a bad day, you'll rarely disappoint yourself. He said, 'Stop complaining! Differentiate yourself from your competition. Don't be a duck. Be an eagle. Ducks quack and complain. Eagles soar above the crowd. The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it. The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

"That hit me right between the eyes," said Wally. "Dyer was really talking about me. I was always quacking and complaining, so I decided to change my attitude and become an eagle. I looked around at the other cabs and their drivers. The cabs were dirty, the drivers were unfriendly, and the customers were unhappy. So I decided to make some changes. I put in a few at a time. When my customers responded well, I did more."

"I take it that has paid off for you," Roberto said.

"It sure has," Wally replied. "My first year as an eagle, I doubled my income from the previous year. This year I'll probably quadruple it. You were lucky to get me today. I don't sit at cabstands anymore. My customers call me for appointments on my cell phone or leave a message on my answering machine. If I can't pick them up myself, I get a reliable cabbie friend to do it and I take a piece of the action."

Wally was phenomenal. He was running a limo service out of a Yellow Cab.

I've probably told that story to more than fifty cab drivers over the years, and only two took the idea and ran with it. Whenever I go to their cities, I give them a call. The rest of the drivers quacked like ducks and told me all the reasons they couldn't do any of what I was suggesting.

Great service is a matter of choice. You could either quack like a Duck or soar like an Eagle.

According to me, it doesn't have to be just service. This story can be related to anything. It can be the way you act for certain situations like work environment, about life, our future and so forth. Its up to us to be duck or eagle on each one of these occasions.

Who would you prefer to be?
